I was challenged by the notion of how to represent a life or tell a story using something as simple and impersonal as a list – and maps. So I began with by making a list of moments in my life, not the usual moments that one thinks of commemorating, but fleeting moments that are at times very specific. Then I went back to the specific location of each on the list, and created a map to reflect this moment. I am interesting in the dichotomy of sharing something deeply personal, yet not so specific and personal that the viewer cannot connect to it. Perhaps it will also inspire others to reflect on their own list.
